We All Have Bad Days

Full Transparency: Last Week Was Tough

I’m going to be real with you—last week wasn’t great for me from a mental health standpoint. The whole house was sick, I couldn’t make it to any meetings, missed a friend’s birthday, and didn’t get in my usual training days. It might seem trivial to some, but these things are important to me.

I felt off. The lack of routine threw me, even down to something as simple as cooking without a child hanging off me!

But here's the point of this post: we all have bad days.

Even the people you think "have it all together."

So, what did I do when Monday came around?

  • Hit my steps.

  • Stuck to my diet.

  • Checked off my “most important tasks” for work.

  • Got a good night’s sleep.

And guess what? On the days when I feel great, I do the exact same thing:

  • Hit my steps.

  • Stick to my diet.

  • Check off my “most important tasks” for work.

  • Get a good night’s sleep.

That’s right—it’s the same routine, whether I’m having a great day or a bad one.

I’m not discrediting the emotions that come with a rough day, we all have them. But bad days will come, and you have to find a way to stick to your plan, even when you’re not feeling your best.

It might not "feel great" in the moment, but you can still do what needs to be done.

The next day, I told myself: “Well, that wasn’t ideal, but you still showed up.” And that felt damn good.

I hope this encourages you to keep showing up, too.
